This was a short film that I shot with my amazing partner Kenzie Jacobs. The assignment was to shoot a short-form documentary on a subject. Naturally, we decided to go with death. We realized that death is a broad topic so we narrowed it down to the different experiences with death from the perspectives of several religious figures, as well as a philosophy professor for the non-religious perspective.

Overall everyone involved was extremely pleased with the end product, we received many glowing reviews and our film was submitted for several awards on behalf of the university.
In order for a short film to be seen, people have to know that it exists and roughly what it covers. To achieve that goal we created a social media ad composed of audio from the interviews as well as shots that symbolically represent this sort of detached loneliness inherent in the topic of death.
The subject of death is simultaneously a universal and an individual experience. The goal of this short film was to explore both sides of that experience with people who have in some way dedicated their lives to the topic of existence to get their professional and personal perspectives on what they have witnessed and experienced.
