While working on another job I had the great fortune to meet an artist by the name of Long Prairie. She’s an Americana/Western artist with an amazing talent for both the guitar as well as storytelling. Coincidentally, she was also looking for a photographer for general social/digital media material to increase her online presence. So she booked a day with me and we went out into the hill country AKA the hidden gem of Texas!

The client was incredibly happy with the results and immediately began putting them into circulation on her personal and professional accounts.
One of the difficulties of outdoor photography in Texas particularly is the weather. One minute it can be a sunny 115º, then in an instant it can turn into a freezing cold overcast with lightning on the horizon. This means that you have to always be ready for drastically different natural light that could change on you mid-shot. Fortunately this is where good photo editing comes into play to balance everything out.
With this particular shoot the goal was not only to produce good photo material, but for it to also be thematically relevant to the artists work. Given the nature of Americana, as well as the artists name, it felt appropriate to use the natural Texas landscape as a setting for the photoshoot.
